Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a skilled medical coder for a full-time day shift in Columbia, SC. You will assign ICD and CPT codes for reimbursement and statistics, following regulatory guidelines, and mentor peers while supporting audits.

The role requires 5 years of coding experience across surgical and/or clinical specialties, with active AAPC/AHIMA certifications preferred. Remote options are available for SC residents, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required; professional coding certifications are preferred.
• Active AAPC or AHIMA certifications (CPC/CCS/CCS-P or similar) are expected.
• Experience with CPT and ICD coding and payor billing requirements is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD and CPT codes for facility or professional reimbursement.
• Abstract clinical information from medical records for statistics.
• Support training and audits and stay current with coding guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure accurate code assignment.
