Job summary

CVS Health's Meritain Health underwriting team is hiring a fully remote Underwriter to support pricing, stop loss strategies, and proposals for a diversified book including Mid-Market and Captive channels.

This role collaborates with Sales, Client Management, and internal partners to deliver accurate quotations and financial deliverables. 1–2 years in medical insurance with strong Excel and Salesforce skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in medical insurance (brokers, carriers, TPAs, underwriting) or related fields.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and grow with a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on pricing and stop loss strategies with Sales and Client Management teams.
• Prepare quotations and financial deliverables for prospects and existing business; meet department turnaround times.
• Create financial projections using Excel and Salesforce for proposals.
• Market and place stop loss policies; negotiate terms based on claims data and cost avoidance.
• Collaborate with leaders to assess impacts of custom requests and communicate outcomes.
• Interpret operational data to support fee development and financial analysis.
• Present to internal/external customers and business partners; demonstrate product knowledge.
• Develop and deliver presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Work with Sales to select product mixes for proposals to reduce total cost of care.
• Explain rates and fees to sales and client management; maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
