Job summary

Syms Strategic Group is seeking a Software Testing Principal (MUMPS) to join a remote, 100% U.S.-based team supporting VA healthcare systems. This senior role requires 10+ years in software testing, deep MUMPS/InterSystems Cache expertise, and a Public Trust clearance.

Lead testing efforts, mentor junior testers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure coverage and quality across legacy platforms.

Qualifications

Experience testing healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
Experience validating enterprise applications in clinical or healthcare operations.
Experience testing MUMPS and InterSystems Cache environments.
Strong knowledge of test planning, test cases, and test execution.
Ability to analyze logs, defects, and drive root cause resolutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test scripts for MUMPS/Cache healthcare apps.
Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, and system upgrades.
Perform functional, integration, regression, UAT, and end-to-end testing.
Verify data integrity across legacy healthcare systems and interfaces.
Coordinate issue resolution with developers, analysts, and end users.
Provide leadership in testing strategies and mentor junior testers.
