Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Software Testing Principal with deep experience in MUMPS/InterSystems Cache to lead testing for mission-critical healthcare applications. This remote, U.S.-based role requires strong expertise in HL7, FHIR, and regulatory testing within federal healthcare programs.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in software testing, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a proven ability to mentor junior testers while coordinating cross-functional teams across QA

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, government, or highly regulated environments.
• Experience testing enterprise applications supporting clinical or healthcare operations.
• Experience supporting legacy applications and long-lived mission-critical systems.
• Experience testing applications developed using MUMPS and/or InterSystems Cache.
• Experience validating healthcare business workflows and system functionality.
• Experience developing detailed test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test cases.
• Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience validating database updates and data integrity.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, HIPAA EDI).

Responsibilities

• Support testing and QA activities for healthcare applications in MUMPS/InterSystems Cache environments.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, scripts, and procedures.
• Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, defects, and upgrades.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, UAT, and system testing.
• Verify data integrity across legacy healthcare systems and interfaces.
• Test HL7, FHIR, EDIs and related industry standards.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and end users on test objectives.
• Track testing metrics, defects, risks, and status reports.
• Lead root cause analysis and verification of fixes.
• Provide testing leadership and mentor junior testers.
