Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Testing Principal (MUMPS) to lead testing activities for VA healthcare systems in a fully remote role. The position requires deep expertise in MUMPS/InterSystems Cache, healthcare interoperability, and QA leadership.

You will develop and execute test plans, validate data integrity, and coordinate end-to-end testing across legacy and modern interfaces. Candidates should have 10+ years in software testing and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare/government/regulated environments is required.
• Experience testing enterprise applications including clinical/healthcare operations.
• Experience supporting legacy/mature systems and MUMPS/InterSystems Cache is preferred.
• Ability to develop detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and cases.
• Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience validating data integrity and database updates.
• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA EDI transactions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support testing and QA for mission-critical healthcare applications in MUMPS/InterSystems Cache environments.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, scripts and procedures.
• Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, defects, and upgrades.
• Coordinate functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, and end-to-end testing.
• Verify data integrity across legacy healthcare applications and interfaces.
• Test HL7, FHIR, EDI transactions and healthcare messaging platforms.
• Lead Beta/IOC testing with facilities and end users; document results and coordinate fixes.
• Analyze defects, integration failures and production incidents; provide root-cause analysis.
