Watershed is seeking an experienced Technical Accounting Lead to own complex areas of financial statements, designing strategic framework, writing memos, and operationalizing key standards for a high-growth SaaS business.

You’ll be the primary technical accounting authority, supporting month-end close, audit prep, and reporting, collaborating with finance and cross-functionally. This role is preferred in SF/NYC; US remote considered.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of progressive accounting with deep expertise in technical revenue accounting and ASC 606 across SaaS, consumption-based, and professional services arrangements.
• CPA certification required; Big 4 experience and tech industry background valued.
• Deep proficiency in US GAAP, especially ASC 340-40 and ASC 350-40.
• Experience with multi-element arrangements, milestone-based SOWs, and complex enterprise agreements.
• Ability to advise Product and GTM on pricing, monetization, and revenue recognition implications.
• Systems mindset bridging accounting conclusions with system implementation.

Responsabilidades

• Own technical accounting for revenue recognition (ASC 606) including complex contracts and memos.
• Manage end-to-end accounting for capitalized commissions (ASC 340-40) with capitalization rates and amortization.
• Lead internally developed software accounting (ASC 350-40) with Engineering collaboration.
• Draft technical memos and maintain an accounting policies library.
• Partner with Product/Engineering to define revenue data pipelines and scalable workflows.
• Act as accounting DRI in cross-functional forums and flag risks.
