Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) for the U.S. Coast Guard, with a focus on data ingestion, sharing, and enterprise data resiliency.

The role is fully remote in the United States and requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification. Responsibilities include end-to-end CDP lifecycle, implementation in USCG environments, and ongoing maintenance to ensure data availability and compliance with federal standards.

Qualifications

• High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience).
• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA-Security).
• Proficiency in Java, .NET, or Python with hands-on programming.
• Strong Linux programming and system administration background.
• Experience with Confluent Platform and Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.
• Ability to complete the USCG PUMP RBAC process for privileged access.
• Solid understanding of configuration management, requirements analysis, and system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle management of the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) for USCG environments.
• Plan and execute deployment tasks in designated cloud environments.
• Maintain data ingestion and sharing pipelines between source/recipient systems and CDP.
• Ensure CDP implementation and maintenance comply with USCG standards.
