Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services (trading as PWR), is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with deep experience in substation site development and complex project leadership. This remote role may require occasional reporting to the South Jordan, Utah office for meetings and activities.

You will mentor engineers, develop technical standards, and lead design reviews on large projects while supporting client proposals and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive civil site design experience with deep expertise in substation or heavy industrial site development.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required; multi-state licensure preferred.
• Expert-level knowledge of substation civil site design, geotechnical engineering interfaces, and complex permitting.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, drainage modeling, and engineering analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical design efforts on large, complex projects.
• Strong mentoring and technical coaching skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex technical topics clearly.
• Track record of developing technical standards and design tools that improve team performance.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on complex and large-scale substation site design projects.
• Develop and implement technical standards, design criteria, and best practices for the Land Development Group.
• Provide expert-level technical review of civil engineering deliverables.
• Resolve technically complex design challenges including geotechnical conditions and drainage systems.
• Mentor and coach Engineers, Project Engineers, and Design Engineers in technical skills.
• Support development of engineering tools, templates, and processes to improve design efficiency.
• Collaborate with clients and project managers on technical risk mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to business development through technical expertise in proposals and client presentations.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
