Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking a Senior Consultant for QAQC in electrical substation design. The role is remote with periodic travel to our Ruston, LA office and reports to the VP of Engineering.

You will lead QAQC reviews, audits, and training development, ensuring compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards while mentoring engineering staff. A PE license and 10+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or power engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in electrical substation engineering and design.
PE license; if registered out-of-state, licensure must be obtained within one year of hire.
Extensive knowledge of substation design, equipment sizing, protection, grounding, one-line development, and drawings.
Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards for substation design.
Experience in QA/QC, training, or quality standards within an engineering environment.
Experience coordinating or standardizing engineering practices across multiple offices.
Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with common software and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

Perform QAQC reviews of substation design packages for compliance with standards.
Conduct QAQC audits, track findings, and communicate results to teams.
Develop and improve QAQC processes and training materials across offices.
Lead or support investigations into quality issues and root causes.
Lead training programs and mentor engineers across offices.
Coordinate with leadership to standardize designs and BOM practices.
Serve as Engineer of Record as needed and provide SME support.
