Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer on the Fabric team to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network infrastructure across multiple clouds. You will focus on service-to-service connectivity, observability, and automation while supporting a FedRAMP authorized environment.

The role emphasizes deep networking expertise, distributed systems proficiency, and a strong bias for automation, with on-call responsibilities and collaboration across internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/mTLS, BGP, tunnels and SDN principles
• Experience with modern cloud networks (VPCs, subnets, routing, VPNs, peering, private link, CDNs)
• Customer-focused mindset driving end-user improvements
• Automation-heavy approach, minimizing manual ops
• Knowledge of service mesh and load-balancing in multi-cloud environments

Responsibilities

• Contribute to re-architecture of a multi-cloud globally-connected network
• Collaborate with service-owning teams to provide internal support and guidance on connectivity best practices
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure high availability of network systems
