Job summary

4IR is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to help deliver mission-critical IT/OT infrastructure for industrial customers. You will design secure cloud/on-prem architectures, own incidents, and drive automation and reliability across environments.

You will work remotely from anywhere, collaborate with a small team, and help shape our operating standards, runbooks, and GitOps workflows while maintaining a blameless but accountable culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes skills in production environments.
• Experience with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Rancher Fleet, FluxCD, or similar).
• Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code concepts (Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane, or similar).
• Real incident response experience—on-call and calm under pressure.
• Comfort with heterogeneous environments and customer-site variety.
• Clear communication skills; write runbooks and gather requirements.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Design complex IT/OT architectures in cloud and on-prem, secure and recoverable.
• Own customer solutions end-to-end: requirements, design, build, support.
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes-based infrastructure across environments.
• Build runbooks, alerts, and automation to reduce incidents.
• Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs to reflect customer priorities.
