Job summary

Susco is seeking a senior engineer who can lead client engagements, combine software development, business analysis, and sales engineering responsibilities, and partner with executives on strategic opportunities.

The role is fully remote with Central Time business hours and requires extensive web development and architecture expertise. You will guide engagements from discovery through delivery and mentor a team in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Senior-level software engineering experience.
• Strong solution architecture and systems design capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously on complex client projects.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• 10 Years web development experience.
• Highly proficient in Database schema design and analysis.
• Highly proficient in Complex SQL Queries.
• Highly proficient in a server-side language (C#, Java, Ruby, Python, or PHP).
• Highly proficient in JavaScript.
• Highly proficient in Team Git branch management.
• Minimum 5 years experience leading a team of 5+ software developers.
• Experience with integration protocols including SOAP, REST, SFTP, ODBC, TCP/IP, and IMAP.
• Experience with Legacy system conversions.
• Basic understanding of networking and OS administration.
• Elicitation of requirements from non-technical users.
• Conceptually design systems from business requirements.
• Perform technical lead role through the SDLC.
• Adapt to rapidly changing environments.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to drive large projects to completion in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a client-facing technical leader and trusted advisor.
• Lead requirements discovery and business analysis efforts.
• Design and deliver custom software solutions.
• Support sales activities, technical discovery, solution demonstrations, and proposal development.
• Partner with executive leadership and the CEO on strategic opportunities.
• Operate independently, owning engagements from discovery through delivery.
• Potentially function as a forward-deployed engineer embedded with client teams.
