Job summary

Optum Tech is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams in a remote, U.S.-based environment. You will own platforms and drive delivery quality, Agile/DevOps maturity, and cross-functional collaboration with product and security partners.

You will mentor engineering leaders, champion SDLC/AI-DLC standards, and shape multi-quarter programs with measurable outcomes. Remote work is allowed nationwide, with in-office requirements in select locations as needed.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
5+ years leading engineering teams in a large enterprise.
3+ years of experience with modern web technologies and APIs.
Experience with cloud-native development on AWS.

Responsibilities

Partner with product, business, and technology leaders to understand strategy and priorities.
Lead 3‑8 feature POD teams, driving delivery accountability and quality.
Serve as technical owner for platforms, portals, and systems within scope.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and teams on vulnerabilities and remediation.
Mature Agile and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and observability.
