Job summary

Higharc seeks a software engineer focused on framing and structural analysis. You’ll design and implement algorithms behind structural analysis, from prototypes to an MVP, while ensuring correctness and maintainability.

You’ll work primarily as an individual contributor with potential to grow into a tech lead. TS experience and CAD/CAM tooling plus structural insight help translate engineering concepts into robust software on a rapidly evolving product.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in TypeScript.
• Structural or mechanical engineering experience, academic or professional.
• Familiarity with computational geometry and mathematical modeling.
• Fluency with modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, and ownership of code correctness.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity on a new and emerging team.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs, delivery timelines, and decisions clearly within a dynamic org.
• A plus: experience building framing, structural analysis, or CAD/CAM tooling.
• Background moving between engineering stacks; C# or Python familiarity helps when picking up TS and React.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the algorithms and systems behind framing and structural analysis, from early prototypes to a shippable MVP.
• Use AI-assisted workflows to build quickly while ensuring correctness, maintainability, and behavior.
• Partner with product, customer success, and other engineers to define expected behavior and surface gaps.
• Bring structural engineering judgment to translate concepts into robust software.
• Write tests that cover worst-case scenarios and edge cases.
• Help shape a new team’s technical direction and mentor others as it grows.
• Navigate ambiguity as scope and priorities evolve on an emerging team.
