Job summary

GEICO is hiring a Senior Engineer, Software (SWE) to drive platform modernization on the GIA Platform. You will work with Distinguished and Staff Engineers to build scalable, zero-downtime services and own production systems.

You will lead technical roadmaps, design robust solutions, and implement high-quality software with extensive DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years in architecture and design.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) or hybrid data centers.
• 2+ years with open-source frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge of at least one modern OOP language (Go preferred; .NET a plus).
• Strong test-driven development practices and secure-by-default mentality.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and partner teams to solve complex problems in the platform.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and execute software development strategy.
• Champion best practices and safe deployment processes for continuous delivery of value.
• Lead by example in coding, testing, CI/CD, and incident response.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across disciplines to align on solutions.
• Use data to measure success and drive improvements.
