Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead high-performance, low-maintenance platforms and applications. You will drive the technical roadmap with a focus on Open-Source database domains, co-create a culture of psychological safety, and mentor engineers across teams.

You will collaborate with Distinguished Engineers and Sr. Engineers to innovate, design scalable architectures, and deliver solutions with enterprise impact. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience in complex system design and data pipelines.
• Advanced knowledge of at least one OOP language (Java, .NET, Go, Python, C++, etc).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Familiarity with open-source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of a technical roadmap for Platform Engineering.
• Collaborate with product managers and teams to solve complex problems.
• Ensure quality, usability, and performance of solutions.
