Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineer III) to join the Continuous Improvement and Automation team. You will design, code, test, and deploy software and collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts, and product managers to deliver scalable solutions on time and within budget.

You will mentor juniors, drive CI/CD practices, and help reduce manual work while turning user needs into practical systems and AI-enabled automation. This role is remote and not visa eligible.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
3+ years of experience with modern software, infrastructure, or networking engineering.
Understanding of distributed system design.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

Build and deliver scalable software solutions with engineers, architects, and analysts.
Lead frontend/backend/full-stack work as required.
Implement CI/CD and engineering best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and support the team.
Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into technical design.
