Job summary

Octave is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead multiple software teams, drive Agile practices, and ensure high-quality enterprise software delivery. You will align with Product, QA, and architecture and mentor engineers to foster growth and delivery excellence.

This role emphasizes scalable multi-tenant and cloud-native design, collaboration with cross-functional leadership, and a focus on performance, reliability, and operational readiness in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in software engineering and enterprise software development.
• 7+ years of experience managing software development teams.
• Experience coordinating with QA leadership on quality planning and release readiness.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead developers, tech leads, and other engineers.
• Act as project and delivery manager for software initiatives.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and control work for software teams.
• Ensure teams are enabled, unblocked, and delivering predictably.
• Drive Agile evolution across teams and coordinate with Product on releases.
• Collaborate with Product to clarify, estimate, and prepare requirements for development.
• Oversee capacity, resource allocation, and workload balance.
• Provide technical leadership for enterprise software initiatives.
• Support high-level design of scalable, secure architecture.
• Coach and develop team members and promote engineering excellence.
