Job summary

One Call is seeking a Senior/Principal Software Engineer to provide architectural depth and hands-on leadership in a modernizing environment. You will guide teams across .NET, SQL Server, and front-end stacks, balancing legacy and modern approaches.

You will drive technical decisions, implement robust APIs, and mentor engineers while advancing CI/CD maturity and instrumentation in a remote-first setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building enterprise .NET applications in C#/.NET Framework and .NET Core.
• Experience modernizing large legacy .NET codebases with service extraction and modularization.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, logging, monitoring, and observability patterns.
• Experience in healthcare, workers' compensation, claims processing, or regulated industries.
• Experience with distributed queues, messaging patterns, and event-driven architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive architecture and design discussions across multiple applications and services.
• Provide pragmatic, hands-on guidance across .NET, SQL, and front-end stacks.
• Evaluate legacy architectures and propose modernization patterns and APIs.
• Champion engineering excellence: code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability.
• Unblock teams by diagnosing issues across the stack; ensure predictable delivery.
• Translate complex requirements into executable technical plans and sequencing.
• Develop and optimize SQL Server objects and APIs; support Windows services.
• Contribute high-quality code in C#, VB.NET; work with ASP.NET MVC/Web API/Web Forms.
