Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE/DevOps/Platform Eng in large-scale prod systems.
• Deep AWS expertise (ALB, ECS/Fargate, RDS Aurora, Lambda, IAM).
• Production-grade Python backend development with containers/serverless.
• Experience building an SRE program from scratch.
• Incident response, on-call rotations, RCA, post-mortems.
• Strong observability knowledge (metrics, logs, traces, alerting).
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
• CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, modern release strategies.
• Troubleshooting distributed systems and production failures.
• Python, Bash, Go scripting; Linux fundamentals.
• Git and collaboration in dev workflows; infra automation.
• Analytical and problem-solving; identify reliability risks.
• Clear communication to engineers and stakeholders.
• Independent work with client teams; on-call readiness.
• Overlap with client hours; workshops participation.
• Reliable, high-speed internet for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain observability across metrics, logs, traces and alerts.
• Define and maintain SLOs/SLAs and error budgets.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call with 10-minute ack.
• Troubleshoot incidents; RCA and post-mortems.
• Manage AWS production infra (ALB, ECS/Fargate, RDS Aurora, Lambda, IAM).
• Debug Python services in containers/serverless environments.
• Develop self-healing automation to reduce toil.
• Analyze observability data to forecast capacity and optimize resources.
• Review IaC, CI/CD pipelines and release strategies.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate reliability throughout SDLC.
• Support AI workloads operations.
• Create runbooks and docs for operational playbooks.
• Mentor SRE engineers as the team grows.
• Participate in discovery workshops and architecture reviews.
• Document solutions for internal knowledge bases.
