Job summary

Lincoln Financial is seeking a Senior Service Processor in our Payment Services team to join the Group Protection Shared Services organization. The role focuses on calculating and issuing complex short and long-term disability payments, using policy provisions and earnings data, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

You will collaborate with claimants, employers and internal teams to gather data, process payments, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of progressive experience in a financial services environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Establish complex payments in system, document claims accurately and comprehensively, and update/maintain payment tracking system with key dates and outcomes.
• Partner with internal and external areas to achieve financial accuracy and stability for our claimants, using contracts, state guidelines, and various other income earnings; communicate with employers, claims specialists, and/or claimants to gain data and information needed to determine benefits.
• Gather and review information for decisions from multiple sources, including claim case managers, claimants, vendors and customer contacts.
• Work independently, following established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meet deadlines around SLAs and performance guarantees; make routine and non-routine decisions with increasing discretion.
• Apply expanded knowledge to increasingly complex situations and continue to acquire more knowledge for the role.
• Establish follow-up tasks for claims examiners that require ongoing payment adjustments or oversight; identify claims with potential for benefit offset based on other income sources.
• Adhere to financial controls under Sarbanes-Oxley, corporate compliance, and GAAP.
