Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design and optimize SDWAN-based remote site networks across the organization. You will evaluate capacity needs, conduct testing, and develop standard solutions for multi-platform environments, including cloud networking considerations.

The role requires leadership in large-scale projects, strong Cisco and Palo Alto experience, and the ability to work independently with on-call duties during nights and weekends. Travel may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a technical or scientific field, or 4+ years of industry experience.
• 4+ years of SDWAN design, implementation, and support.
• Network engineering certification such as CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE, AASX or equivalent.
• 4+ years of network engineering experience and 3+ years in project leadership.
• 4+ years of Layer 2/Layer 3 WAN/Cloud/Data Center design and engineering.
• 4+ years of experience with BGP and WAN technologies.
• Experience with Cisco networking equipment.
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Experience in SDWAN overlay technologies.
• Knowledge of QoS and network security (firewalls, VPN, IPS).
• Ability to manage complex multi-organizational projects.
• Experience with configuring and operating software-defined networks (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Meraki).
• Vendor management with hardware/software security vendors and third parties.
• Experience with Data Center Colocation facilities and virtual network fabrics (Equinix, Mega-Port).
• Pass eQIP certification background check.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and implement SDWAN architectures and remote site solutions.
• Develop analyses for short- and long-term capacity for switching, routing, and signaling.
• Perform SDWAN design, testing, feasibility, and cost studies for multi-platform environments.
• Lead and participate in moderately complex to highly complex network projects; on-call duties as needed.
• Deliver secure, reliable remote site networking across Humana and subsidiaries.
• Provide cloud network design and admin support for physical and virtual devices.
• Drive optimization of performance, resiliency, and security across the remote network ecosystem.
