Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, analyze, and implement advanced SDWAN and remote site networks across Humana and subsidiaries.

You will plan capacity, test designs, and establish network activity sequences to optimize performance and resiliency. This role includes on-call duties, cross-team collaboration, and driving multi-platform connectivity while supporting cloud networking across physical and virtual devices.

Qualifications

• BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field or in lieu of BS/BA, 4+ years industry experience + industry certifications
• 4+ years of experience working with SDWAN architecture network designs, implementations, and support
• Network engineering certification such as CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE, AASX or equivalent
• 4+ years of technical network engineering experience, and 3+ years of project leadership experience
• 4+ years of Layer 2/ Layer 3 network architectural design (WAN/Cloud/Data Center) and engineering experience
• 4+ years of experience working with BGP and other WAN technologies
• Strong experience supporting large-scale environments and remote sites
• Experience with Cisco networking equipment
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
• Experience in SDWAN overlay technologies
• Knowledge of QoS and network security functions (firewalls, VPN, IPS, etc)
• Ability to manage complex multi-organizational projects
• Experience with implementing and operating software-defined network environments (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Meraki etc.)
• Vendor management skills (hardware/software security vendors as well as third party vendors)
• Experience working with Data Center Colocation facilities and virtual network fabric provided by vendors such as Equinix and Mega-Port.
• Pass eQIP certification background check

Responsibilities

• Designs, analyzes, plans and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities.
• Develops and evaluates remote site solutions throughout Humana and its subsidiaries.
• Prepares analyses of short-term and long-term capacity requirements for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
• Conducts SDWAN network design and testing, as well as feasibility and cost studies.
• Develops standard solutions and establishes the required sequence of network activities.
• Evaluates site growth and expansion for impact on remote services.
• Participates in departmental strategy and makes decisions on moderately complex to highly complex technical issues.
• Performs on-call and implementation duties during nights and weekends as needed.
• Delivers solutions for multi-platform network connectivity; engineers and designs, plans, implements, and maintains programs for best-in-class SDWAN and remote site infrastructure.
• Optimizes performance, resiliency, availability, resource utilization and innovation in the remote network ecosystem.
• Provides cloud network design, engineering, and administrative support for both physical and virtual networking devices in multi-platform environments.
