Job summary

Macmillan Publishers in New York seeks a Senior Royalty Manager to lead a small squad of Royalty Managers. You will oversee royalty statement preparation, analysis, and payments for an imprint, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to authors, agents, and other contractual parties.

The role requires 5+ years in royalty accounting, with at least 2 years in supervision, strong Excel and database skills, and proven leadership. Remote work is supported but aligned with our New York office.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing teams in royalty accounting.
• Deep understanding of royalty contracts and statement preparation.
• Book publishing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Biblio royalty platform strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a squad of 2-3 Royalty Managers, including performance reviews and coaching.
• Own royalty statement preparation and issuance for an imprint; review contracts and payee setup.
• Analyze sales data interfacing with the royalty system; post expenses and deductions.
• Review statements for accuracy and contract compliance; calculate reserves for returns.
• Process new contracts and amendments; ensure adherence to internal controls and tax withholding.
