Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and manage facility and operational refrigeration systems across multiple sites. You will lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, IT, and external vendors to drive reliability and energy efficiency.

The role supports capital projects, modernization efforts, and technology adoption, requiring strong troubleshooting and project management skills; travel and remote work are involved.

Qualifications

• 5 years of industrial refrigeration or cold chain experience.
• Experience with ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems and preventive maintenance.
• Experience managing multi-site operations and technical teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, PSM, IIAR and energy efficiency.
• Experience with CMMS, maintenance planning, and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of facility and operational systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Provide advanced technical expertise for infrastructure, automation, controls, mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, EHS, and external vendors on system improvements and initiatives.
• Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and develop solutions to improve uptime and capacity.
• Lead root cause analysis for failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and system documentation.
