Job summary

Cavnue seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Core Software, for its real-time, high-performance platform. You will build and operate low-latency C++ algorithms and data pipelines, integrating edge data, preparing AI-ready inputs, and enabling real-time inferences.

This fully remote, hands-on role emphasizes end-to-end ownership—from implementing production-ready code to deployment and ongoing O&M, with strong API interfaces and observability in a cloud-native stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with a backend and systems focus.
• Strong experience building, tuning, and operating real-time systems.
• Expert C++ production experience; Python for prototyping.
• Experience with IPC, high-speed messaging, and robust interfaces between applications.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with streaming data systems (Redis Streams, Kafka) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle ambiguity as a self-starter, translating raw requirements into robust system design and implementation.
• Own the feature lifecycle from development through production deployment and O&M.
• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency C++, Go, and Python services for core platform components.
• Iterate on historic and simulated data to test and validate algorithms before live deployment.
• Develop REST APIs and internal/external service integrations.
• Implement and enhance observability, monitoring, logging, and alerts for performance-critical apps.
• Operate containerized services on Kubernetes (Argo, Helm) in GCP; document systems and runbooks.
