Job summary

Commence is seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher to lead the implementation and evaluation of CMS/CMMI alternative payment models. You’ll translate policy goals into operational methodologies using Medicare/Medicaid data, surveys, and census data to generate actionable insights.

This remote role involves collaboration with economists, data scientists, and engineers to apply ML-based methods and produce high-quality evaluation reports for federal health programs.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on CMS/CMMI APM implementation and/or evaluation experience.
• Experience with data sources including Medicare/Medicaid claims, surveys, and census data.
• Strong writing for federal audiences and proposal experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate model design documents and policy goals into operational methodologies using claims, enrollment data, surveys and census data.
• Develop, refine, and implement value-based care methodologies including attribution, payments, risk adjustment, and quality measures.
• Design and conduct evaluations with methods like propensity score matching and quasi-experimental designs.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists, and engineers to apply ML-based methods on the Commence platform.
• Lead development of methodology documents, evaluation reports, and briefings for CMMI model teams.
• Mentor junior researchers and analysts and manage project priorities and timelines.
