Job summary

Triwill Group in the United States is seeking a Senior API Engineer to own API and integration architecture for public health-driven projects. You will design, build, and maintain APIs and integrations, collaborating with Salesforce developers, solution architects, and QA to deliver reliable, observable systems.

You will pair deep API engineering with an understanding of public health operations, mentoring engineers and shaping end-to-end data flows across complex environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on API development and systems integration experience at a senior level
• 1-3 years experience working for a governmental public health agency (local, tribal, state or federal)
• Strong backend engineering background in Java, Python, Node.js, or equivalent
• Experience in Agile or SAFe environments
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Mentoring or guiding less experienced engineers across organizational boundaries

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and integrations across API-led layers
• Lead API architecture discussions and contribute to solution design
• Audit inherited APIs and integrations and propose corrections
• Coach client technical teams on API best practices
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming and code reviews
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code with observability
• Collaborate with Salesforce, QA, and architects to ensure end-to-end quality
• Translate public health workflows into reliable API and integration patterns
