Job summary

SOLV Energy is hiring a Project Cost Controls Analyst to deliver data‑driven financial analysis and strategic insights for nationwide solar, storage, and substation projects. This fully remote role requires periodic site travel (up to 25%).

The analyst will build cost forecasts, monitor drivers, support SOX controls, develop forecasting models, and deliver executive‑level dashboards and narratives. Strong Excel, BI, and data skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant analytical field.
• 1–3 years in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles.
• Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI, Python and/or SQL preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured modeling approach.
• Experience translating technical data into business terms for leadership.
• Effective communicator capable of presenting insights to senior leaders.
• Data management and storytelling with dashboards and decks.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project‑level cost forecasts and monthly reports.
• Support internal controls over financial reporting per SOX.
• Develop analytics models to forecast future project costs from historical data.
• Assist with budget mapping to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Analyze variance drivers across cost, schedule and resources.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses and mitigation actions with leadership.
• Develop and maintain cost tracking and reporting systems.
• Gather cost data from project teams and provide trend insights.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Create executive‑ready decks highlighting trends and decisions.
• Translate variance drivers into clear business narratives for leaders.
• Visit field sites to understand challenges and propose solutions.
• Identify risks and early warning signals and plan contingencies.
• Convey data-driven insights to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Define metrics to manage project health and continuous improvement.
• Lead data quality audits and resolve discrepancies with field teams.
• Contribute analytics to lessons‑learned and portfolio reports.
