Very Good Security, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer to extend and evolve the VGS Platform—the foundation powering payment credential orchestration for global merchants and financial institutions.

You will build fault-tolerant, client-facing financial primitives, shipping features quickly and cleanly, with ownership across the product. This role suits a fast-moving, product-led team in a remote-first, hybrid-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Strong product instincts with holistic UX, API design, and system correctness.
• Experience shipping high-quality software in fast-paced, product-led environments.
• Ability to solve problems and ship features even when others doubt.
• Enjoys agentic engineering environments and balancing risks/benefits of technologies.
• Willingness to work directly with customers and vendors to own solutions end-to-end.
• Interest or familiarity with payments, tokenization, and credential management.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale extensions on top of the core platform used by large enterprises across merchant, acquirer, and card issuer spaces.
• Ship features iteratively, balancing MVP usefulness with scalable future offering.
• Set engineering standards, influence team culture, and contribute to the roadmap.
• Work with customers, vendors, and partners to solve business problems with reusable software solutions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and guide product direction in payment tokenization and credential orchestration.
