Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Process Design Engineer for a remote (U.S.-based) role. The successful candidate brings extensive process design experience, leadership, and strong communication to develop PFDs, P&IDs, and related deliverables while supporting business development.

Must have a Chemical Engineering background with 10+ years’ experience; PE license is a plus. Travel may be required occasionally. Salary ranges reflect market data for remote, exempt roles in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 10 years of process design experience in heavy industrial projects (chemicals, downstream/midstream O&G, power).
• Familiarity with process simulation software and engineering tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; team oriented.
• Proficiency with MS Office and design/enterprise software.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop process deliverables: heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment lists, datasheets.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and technical reviews of designs and drawings.
• Provide technical liaison support and assist business development efforts.
• Advance process safety offerings for clients and supervise proposal prep.
• Develop and implement engineering standards and update discipline codes.
