Job summary

MZLA Technologies Corporation, the team behind Thunderbird, seeks a Senior Privacy & Compliance Program Manager to strengthen privacy governance and vendor review practices across products and operations. You will coordinate legal, engineering, and product teams to translate complex requirements into practical workflows.

The role emphasizes privacy-by-design, international data handling, and audit readiness, with remote collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in software, SaaS, tech, or product environments.
• 5+ years in privacy operations, compliance program management, or similar.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional programs across legal, engineering, product, support, finance, and operations teams.
• Experience with privacy reviews, data governance, and vendor risk.
• Exposure to GDPR/EU privacy requirements, DSARs, data inventories, and retention practices.
• Technical fluency to understand data movement in cloud services and vendor tools.
• Experience with ISO 27001, SOC 2 readiness, audits, or certifications.
• Open-source/mission-driven tech experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate privacy and compliance program work across teams and leadership.
• Translate privacy/security requirements into practical processes for products and services.
• Lead vendor and tool reviews with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Document data flows, subprocessors, and privacy considerations.
• Support DSAR workflows and data governance for international users.
• Develop inventories, records of processing, and retention processes.
• Collaborate with engineering for privacy-by-design in new products.
• Support audit readiness, evidence tracking, and remediation follow-up.
• Improve incident response with clear roles and escalation paths.
• Create training materials to reduce bureaucracy while meeting requirements.
