Job summary

One Call is seeking a Senior/Principal Software Engineer to provide architectural depth and hands-on leadership in a complex environment undergoing modernization. You will guide engineers across .NET, SQL Server, WinForms/Web Forms, and newer .NET Core, REST APIs, and front-end techs, while promoting engineering excellence.

The role emphasizes technical influence rather than people management, with remote-first work and a focus on delivering high-quality software across mission-critical

Qualifications

• 10+ years building enterprise .NET applications.
• Experience modernizing large legacy .NET codebases.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, logging, monitoring, and observability patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive architecture across multiple applications and services.
• Provide hands-on guidance across .NET, SQL, and front-end stacks.
• Evaluate legacy architectures and propose modernization patterns (service boundaries, APIs, refactors).
• Champion engineering excellence: code quality, testing, CI/CD maturity, observability, and maintainability.
• Unblock teams quickly by diagnosing issues across the stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and optimize SQL Server objects (stored procedures, ETL pipelines, reporting).
• Build robust APIs, REST services, Windows Services, and data-access layers.
