Job summary

DLB Associates is expanding its power engineering practice and seeks a Senior Power Engineer – Physical Electrical to lead substation physical design for utility, data center, and industrial projects.

You will design layouts, grounding, cable routing, and equipment foundations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining code compliance and quality, from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and PE licensure or actively pursuing.
• 10+ years of progressive substation physical electrical design experience.
• Experience with AIS and GIS substation design at MV/HV levels.
• Hands-on ability to produce construction-quality drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical electrical design for substations and grid interconnection projects.
• Coordinate with civil, protection, and project management teams.
• Ensure code compliance with IEEE/NESC standards and utility requirements.
• Produce and review construction drawings, layouts, and grounding designs.
• Support client interfaces, design reviews, and technical troubleshooting.
