Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma is seeking a Senior Manager, Program Management Operations to lead governance, planning, forecasting, and portfolio visibility across development programs. You will partner with R&D leaders and cross-functional teams to enable strategic program delivery and operational excellence.

Primarily remote, with periodic on-site meetings; requires strong business acumen, judgment, and collaboration to drive improvements in PMO processes and reporting for decision-making at leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams within an R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Leads operational planning and execution readiness across assigned programs with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Shapes governance agendas, prepares decision materials, and ensures action follow-through.
• Owns portfolio reporting with dashboards, metrics, and insights for leadership decisions.
• Integrates budget, forecast, capacity, cost, and variance inputs for program reporting.
• Manages integrated timelines, dependencies, risks, and decision-ready plans.
• Identifies and mitigates portfolio risks and issues with timely visibility.
• Drives PMO onboarding, training materials, and tool adoption for consistency.
• Drives process improvements to simplify workflows and portfolio execution.
• Leads complex cross-functional PMO initiatives from concept to implementation.
