Intuit, Inc. is seeking a payroll tax professional to resolve notices, prepare amended returns, and correct payroll errors across multiple states. This remote, part-time role requires independent case management and mentorship for colleagues while growing technical depth.

You will handle high-volume tax case work, research complex notices, prepare responses, and drive corrections to closure with accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on notices and amended returns.
• Experience resolving IRS/state notices and determining resolutions.
• Hands-on with Form 941‑X and state payroll tax returns.
• Familiar with payroll tax laws, FICA/FUTA and multi-state rules.
• Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets for reconciliation and tracing.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Independently resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices and balance-due issues.
• Prepare agency responses with supporting docs and meet deadlines.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns on complex amendments and own the process.
• Support correction workflows, quantify tax impact, and document audit trails.
• Manage personal WIP queue by SLA dates and maintain case documentation.
• Perform high‑level trend analysis to identify process deficiencies.
• Contribute to SOP/KB updates and share solutions with teammates.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Corrections, Amendments, and Pay & File teams.
