Job summary

CBRE Government and Defense Business is seeking a Senior Payroll Associate & Tax Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing and multi-state tax compliance. The role supports SOX controls and liaises with federal and local tax agencies.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in payroll processing, strong knowledge of tax regulations, and experience with UKG or similar systems. Remote work options available with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of payroll processes including data entry, pay calculations, tax and benefits, wage and hour laws.
• Experience with third-party payroll vendors and HRIS systems preferred.
• Strong ability to communicate complex content clearly.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing.
• File federal, state, and local payroll taxes across 50 states.
• Validate and reconcile payroll tax deposits and filings.
• Maintain compliance with changing tax regulations and wage limits.
• Perform reconciliations of payroll tax accounts to GL and agency records.
• Prepare documentation for SOX, internal and external audits.
• Serve as primary contact for tax agencies and resolve notices.
• Support annual W-2, W-2C, and 1099 filing and year-end deadlines.
