The ideal candidate has 10–14 years of experience, strong knowledge of tax laws, internal controls, and proficiency with ADP, Workday or Deltek systems. This position requires attention to detail and leadership of junior staff.

Qualifications

• 10–14 years of multi-state payroll experience.
• Knowledge of internal controls and process documentation.
• Ability to identify and resolve payroll system issues.
• Experience supporting auditors and regulatory inquiries.
• Experience supporting development of payroll systems and tools.
• Analytical data collection, organization, and reporting.
• Handling confidential information in a compliant manner.
• Knowledge of US federal/state and international tax requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares company payroll, reviews timesheets, and reconciles discrepancies for multi-state and global payroll.
• Acts as payroll SME; audits and resolves processing issues and responds to inquiries.
• Collaborates to develop and implement compensation and benefit programs and resolves system issues.
• Researches regulatory requirements and resolves tax, wage/hour issues.
• Calculates and documents payroll transactions, including manual inputs.
• Performs internal audits and responds to external regulatory inquiries.
• Ensures payroll reporting complies with policy, GAAP, and IRS regulations.
• Completes monthly General Ledger reconciliations.
• Supports yearly tax filing and related reconciliations.
• Leads and mentors junior Payroll Specialists.
• Enters transactions and journals into accounting/timekeeping/payroll systems.
