Job summary

Stripe is seeking a seasoned Payments Performance leader to drive data-driven optimization conversations with merchants and to partner with Sales and Customer Success to differentiate Stripe. You will craft optimization narratives, build tools, and contribute to our merchant-engagement model across a broad payments landscape.

You will influence product roadmaps with actionable insights, lead cross-functional collaborations, and mentor teams on best practices in payments optimization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in payments or operations at a leading technology company or payments consultancy.
• Deep expertise in card network costs at the acquirer level.
• Deep expertise in interchange and scheme fees at the merchant level.
• Understanding of e-commerce payments, card-based processing and optimization strategies.
• Knowledge of card network rules and regulations, local payment methods, and PSD2/PSD3.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
• Self-starter capable of driving business results with minimal supervision.
• Experience presenting directly to merchants and providing advisory in payments.
• Develop optimization playbooks and stay updated on Stripe innovations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong data processing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions with existing and prospective merchants; provide Sales with tools and training to lead discussions.
• Serve as an internal and merchant-facing expert on payment optimization strategies.
• Gather Stripe’s payments expertise to create optimization narratives/tools with rigorous analysis.
• Use tools to deploy sophisticated optimization playbooks and analyses across Stripe’s customer portfolio.
• Synthesize and relay customer feedback to inform Stripe’s product roadmap.
• Provide feedback to improve self-serve offerings.
