Job summary

Gray AES is seeking a Packaging Engineer III to join our team. The role focuses on design, installation and commissioning of packaging lines for consumer products, with travel across projects.

The candidate will support packaging systems design, line speed analyses, and create essential documentation such as P&IDs and data sheets. Requirements include a BS in mechanical/industrial/packaging engineering and 5+ years in packaging equipment systems engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, industrial or packaging systems engineering. An emphasis on packaging systems is preferred.
• 5+ years of demonstrated professional work experience in a Packaging Equipment Systems Engineering or related field of work.
• Proficiency in MS Office. Advanced excel skills are a plus.
• 2D CAD experience is a plus.
• Advanced understanding of automation control systems (PLC, HMI, VFD’s, etc.) is a plus.
• Travel is a regular expectation of this role and depends upon the location of projects and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, installation and commissioning of manufacturing lines focused on the packaging operations of consumer products.
• Support the technical lead on all aspects of packaging systems design and integration including line speed analysis, pack out matrix and P&IDs.
• Prepare equipment lists and data sheets, block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams and P&IDs as needed.
• Travel is required; travel ranges from 20% to 70% depending on project stage.
