Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an Observability Engineer to design and operate metrics, logs, traces, and alerting platforms across large-scale systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or observability.
• Hands-on with Prometheus, Grafana, and at least one commercial observability platform such as Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk.
• Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience operating high-cardinality, high-throughput metrics and log pipelines.
• Strong grasp of SLOs, error budgets, and SRE principles.
• Experience integrating observability with CI/CD and incident tooling.
• Knowledge of Linux internals, networking, and container platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate enterprise-grade observability platforms for metrics, logs, traces, events, and synthetic monitoring.
• Architect Prometheus / Thanos / Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog deployments for HA and scale.
• Develop standards for service instrumentation and logging conventions.
• Define and enforce SLOs/SLIs and build dashboards and alerts.
• Build alerting strategies and integrate with on-call workflows (PagerDuty, Opsgenie, etc.).
• Operate large-scale time-series and log storage with balanced retention and performance.
• Design distributed tracing pipelines and help teams diagnose latency issues.
• Develop self-service tooling and templates to drive adoption of observability standards.
• Drive cost management and label-cardinality discipline.
• Lead incident readiness improvements with dashboards and post-incident analysis tools.
• Collaborate with SRE and platform teams to integrate observability into pipelines.
• Evaluate observability vendors/open-source tools based on cost and capability.
• Mentor teams on observability fundamentals, debugging, and SLO-driven operations.
• Maintain documentation, onboarding guides, and runbooks for the observability platform.
