Job summary

Arc Human Services is looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee AR/AP, the general ledger, payroll, and related financial reporting. You will supervise four staff members and coordinate across multiple cost centers using double-entry accrual accounting.

As a key partner to the CFO, you will drive month-end close processes, ensure accuracy of financial statements, and lead audits. CPA preferred and nonprofit experience valued. Remote work option available within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• Approximately 5–7+ years in accounting/finance roles.
• Experience in nonprofit human services is preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.
• Direct month-end close, balance sheet analyses, and reporting.
• Manage payroll, benefits accounting, and rep payee processes.
• Coordinate annual ERISA audits and liaise with auditors.
• Develop fiscal policies aligned with DHS and county guidelines.
