Job summary

Evry Health is seeking a Senior Node Software Engineer to lead the Node sub-team, shape technical direction, and deliver production-grade backend services using Node.js and TypeScript. You will work on Next.js API routes and the data layer, balancing performance, security, and HIPAA compliance while collaborating with frontend and mobile teams.

You will own architecture decisions, mentor engineers, drive testing and CI/CD, and ensure reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software development experience with primary backend expertise.
Deep proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, and Next.js (API routes) building production services and APIs.
Strong relational and document database design experience, and experience deploying and operating services on a cloud platform (Azure preferred).
Lead backend architecture and service design with emphasis on performance, security, and scalability.
Mentor junior engineers and drive testing strategy, CI/CD, and HIPAA-compliant, high-availability services.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture of the backend platform — service and API structure, data modeling, and resiliency.
Own design and implementation of complex backend features using Node.js and TypeScript.
Design and implement complex Next.js API routes and backend services with stable interfaces.
Provide day-to-day technical leadership through code reviews and standards enforcement.
