Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to help turn homeownership dreams into reality. This remote role includes occasional onsite meetings in Naperville, IL, and offers a competitive salary.

You’ll underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans, submit files through underwriting systems, and present decisions to the loan committee. A strong attention to detail and collaboration with branch partners are essential.

Qualifications

• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach.
• Experience working cross-functionally with mortgage and lending partners.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans per guidelines.
• Submit files through automated underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present to loan committee.
• Serve as a resource for branch partners on complex files.
• Maintain a 24-48 hour turnaround on new submissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems and tools to support underwriting operations.
