Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is searching for a Senior Mobile Application Engineer to lead the development of a caregiver-facing mobile app for a connected pediatric health device. This remote, three-month contract may extend to contract-to-hire; candidates must be located in the US.

The role combines hands-on development with cross‑functional collaboration across design, hardware, and firmware teams, delivering a secure MVP from design to release in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of professional mobile software development with released apps.
Experience with React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android.
Experience integrating with Bluetooth LE peripherals and GATT.
Healthcare/digital health experience a plus.
Familiarity with HIPAA considerations or regulated software docs is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and release a caregiver-facing mobile app (iOS and/or Android).
Implement device discovery, pairing, reconnection, and data sync with secure handling.
Incorporate session tracking, adherence calculations, and secure data exports.
Collaborate with design, hardware, and firmware teams to define interfaces.
Set up automated and manual testing for connectivity and security scenarios.
Manage builds and app-store submissions with clear documentation for future work.
