Job summary

BlackSky seeks a Staff Mission Solutions Engineer to drive technical sales for our EO satellite portfolio, focusing on international defense and intelligence customers. You will partner with regional BD, systems engineering, and account management to scope requirements and design solutions.

The role is remote with ~50% international travel, reporting to the Senior Director of Solutions Engineering. Candidates worldwide (or near Abu Dhabi, London, or Singapore) are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical account management in remote sensing or space industries.
• Strong knowledge of electro-optical imaging systems, ground software, and satellite operations.
• Experience selling to international defense, intelligence, or government customers.
• Willingness to travel internationally ~50% and understand export controls and IP transfer.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical advisory throughout international satellite sales cycles with defense and government accounts.
• Translate mission requirements into tailored satellite procurement proposals and demonstrations.
• Deliver presentations, product demos, and proof-of-concept exercises to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with contracts, legal, and export compliance on deal structures.
