Job summary
BlackSky is seeking a Staff Mission Solutions Engineer to drive technical sales for its EO satellite portfolio, focusing on international defense and intelligence customers. This field-facing role requires deep space imaging expertise, the ability to translate requirements into proposed solutions, and travel about 50% of the time, mostly internationally.
Domestic US location preferred with Seattle salary range noted.
Qualifications
- Eight+ years in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or tech account management in remote sensing/space.
- Experience selling to international defense, intelligence, or government customers.
- Familiarity with GEOINT/ISR workflows and imagery in analytics/ops.
- Strong presentation and communication skills briefing senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead technical advisor through international defense and government sales cycles.
- Translate mission requirements into tailored satellite system proposals and ground software inputs.
- Deliver technical presentations, demos, and PoCs to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product/Engineering to capture field requirements and competitive intelligence.
- Coordinate with Contracts and Export Compliance on international deals.
