Job summary
BlackSky is seeking a Staff Mission Solutions Engineer to drive technical sales for our EO satellite portfolio, focusing on international defense and intelligence. You will translate mission requirements into tailored solutions, deliver compelling demos, and support the full sales cycle from qualification through contract award.
The role requires deep space imaging knowledge, strong presentation skills, and the ability to travel internationally up to ~50%.
Qualifications
- Eight+ years in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical account management in remote sensing/space.
- Experience with EO satellite imaging systems and ground architecture.
- Experience selling to international defense, intelligence, or government customers.
- Willingness to travel internationally ~50% and knowledge of export controls and IP transfer.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical advisor during satellite sales cycle for international defense, intelligence, and govt accounts.
- Translate mission requirements into tailored satellite procurement proposals and demonstrations.
- Deliver technical presentations and proof-of-concept exercises to senior stakeholders.
- Respond to RFIs/RFPs with technical narratives and system inputs.
