Job summary

Macmillan Learning is seeking a Senior Media Editor to build on established processes and data while integrating AI and automation to boost efficiency within our High School division (BFW Publishers).

You will partner with the Course Product Manager to translate customer needs into media content, coordinating with authors, vendors, and internal teams across content development, sales, marketing, and product. This fully remote role spans multiple high school courses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 5+ years of editorial experience in educational publishing or educational technology.
• Senior-level judgment and leadership.
• Organizational and project management skills across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing authors and freelancers, and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, initiate, and oversee projects in coordination with Program Manager, Development Editor, Content Producer, Product, and Production.
• Keep stakeholders informed about status, issues, scheduling, and budget while sharing information from Product, Engineering, and Program Management.
• Assess user needs and plan content with editors to align with platform functionality.
• Recommend and implement changes to schedules, budgets, or content based on new functionality.
• Communicate with multimedia authors, prioritize tasks, and ensure quality, on-time turnover to production.
• Identify, hire, and coordinate vendors and freelancers for multimedia content and projects.
• Manage in-flight projects, monitor status, and adjust workflows as needed.
• Pilot AI and automation in internal processes, document effective practices, and measure turnaround time and cost impact.
