Job summary

PerkinElmer in the United States is seeking a Senior Materials Characterization Support Specialist to join our remote TAC team, supporting customers, field engineers, and internal stakeholders across North America. You will triage, diagnose, and resolve complex hardware, software, and application issues to maximize instrument uptime and minimize on-site visits.

This full-time remote role can be performed from the US or Canada, requiring up to 25% travel for training and field ride-alongs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, or related discipline.
5+ years of expert experience with Materials Characterization Instrumentation as a subject matter expert.
5+ years of experience with at least two of FT-IR, UV-Vis, or TEA.
Willingness to travel up to 25% for training and field ride-alongs.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary technical contact via phone and email for Materials Characterization products.
Triage requests from basic information to complex service issues.
Perform remote diagnostics of complex equipment and software by interpreting data.
Guide remote fixes or coordinate efficient field service when needed.
Document actions and provide clear plans to enable first-time fix.
Mentor colleagues and share product updates with the North American service team.
